Financial Controller

About the role

The Financial Controller will oversee and audit the organization’s financial operations, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies. This role is responsible for safeguarding financial integrity through rigorous control procedures and detailed reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve disbursement documents, confirming compliance with financial and legal requirements.
• Monitor and audit financial operations and expenditure procedures, ensuring budget allocations are properly authorized.
• Verify that all financial documents meet applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
• Identify and document any expenditure violations, preparing supporting evidence.
• Participate in investigation committees for deficits, embezzlement, or financial disputes.
• Prepare and present specialized financial control reports, maintaining them in the database according to policy.
• Provide recommendations and solutions based on control findings.
• Audit financial records, accounts, and transactions for accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate with relevant departments to address audit observations and implement corrective actions.
• Stay updated on current financial control and auditing standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certification such as SOCPA, CPA, CIA, or equivalent (preferred).
• 3–5 years of experience in financial control, auditing, or accounting.
• Experience in the government sector and familiarity with government financial regulations is an advantage.
