Financial Controller

About the role

As a Financial Controller at BRKZ, you will own all accounting, audit, and financial reporting functions, working hands‑on in a fast‑growing construction‑tech startup. You will build robust processes, strengthen internal controls, and develop the finance team as the company scales.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full accounting function including general ledger, AP, AR, fixed assets, accruals, payroll accounting and month‑end close.
• Lead month‑end and year‑end closing, delivering accurate financial statements on time.
• Prepare and review management reports, financial statements and reporting packs for leadership, investors and auditors.
• Own the external audit process from preparation to issuance of audited statements.
• Ensure compliance with Saudi tax, zakat, VAT, withholding tax, e‑invoicing and regulatory filings.
• Strengthen internal controls across finance, procurement, payments, revenue recognition and expense management.
• Build scalable finance processes, policies and approval workflows suitable for high growth.
• Monitor receivables, payables, working capital and cash reporting.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis with reliable actuals.
• Identify gaps in systems and processes and implement fixes directly.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Financial Controller.
• Professional certification such as SOCPA, CPA, ACCA or CMA preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Saudi accounting, tax, zakat, VAT and audit requirements.
• Proven experience owning accounting, audit and reporting functions end‑to‑end.
• Prior experience in a startup, scale‑up or construction‑related marketplace is highly preferred.
• Previous Big 4 experience is a plus.
• Fluent in Arabic and English with excellent communication skills.
• Strong leadership and team‑management capabilities.
