Financial Reporting Lead (IFRS Expert)

About the role

The Financial Reporting Lead will head KAUST's financial reporting function, ensuring accurate, timely and IFRS‑compliant financial information for both separate and consolidated statements. This senior position provides technical leadership on complex accounting matters and drives continuous improvement across reporting processes, controls and systems.

Key responsibilities

• Lead annual and periodic financial closing processes for KAUST.
• Prepare separate and consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Oversee group consolidation activities, including intercompany eliminations and adjustments.
• Coordinate internal and external audit activities, prepare schedules and address audit findings.
• Mentor and develop the financial reporting team, ensuring capability building and succession planning.
• Provide technical guidance on complex accounting issues to Finance Division and other stakeholders.
• Manage control‑account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items promptly.
• Identify and implement improvements to reporting efficiency, accuracy, automation and internal controls.
• Support SAP ERP reporting, consolidation enhancements and automation initiatives.
• Prepare management reports, financial analyses and ad‑hoc reporting for senior leadership.
