Fixed Asset Accountant – Healthcare Finance

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Fixed Asset Accountant to join the finance team of Makkah Medical Center Hospital. The role will ensure accurate tracking, valuation and reporting of the hospital’s extensive asset portfolio, supporting both day‑to‑day operations and statutory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a comprehensive fixed asset register covering medical equipment, buildings, IT assets and furniture.
• Record asset additions, transfers, disposals and write‑offs in the ERP system.
• Calculate, post and reconcile monthly depreciation entries with the general ledger.
• Monitor Capital Work in Progress and capitalize projects upon completion.
• Coordinate periodic physical counts and asset tagging with relevant departments.
• Perform asset impairment reviews in accordance with IFRS as adopted by SOCPA.
• Prepare fixed‑asset schedules for month‑end and year‑end closing.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls and ZATCA requirements.

Required profile

• Saudi national with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in fixed‑asset accounting.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, especially IAS 16 and IAS 36.
• Experience working in a hospital or healthcare environment is preferred.
• Membership or progress toward a SOCPA, CMA or CPA qualification is an advantage.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP.
• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Practical application of IFRS (IAS 16, IAS 36) for asset accounting.
