Flight Simulator Engineer (FSTD) – English

About the role

Join CAE Middle East as a Flight Simulator Engineer supporting the new Riyadh Air training centre in Saudi Arabia. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on flight‑simulator devices, both on‑site and in the field, and may contribute to selected design activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist during subjective fly‑outs and clear snags, ensuring all corrective actions are documented.
• Carry out preventive maintenance tasks (PMTs) and daily readiness checks on training devices, following standards and signing off completed work.
• Run and troubleshoot recurrent QTG cycles, collaborating with QTG specialists and senior engineers.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on simulators, updating related documentation and maintenance records.
• Support senior colleagues during AOG situations and coordinate with logistics, scheduling and training teams to ensure uninterrupted training delivery.

Required profile

• Technical College Diploma or Degree in Electronics, Electrical or Aviation field.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience with flight‑simulator or similar equipment.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing schedules.
• Understanding of aircraft terminology and ability to read schematics and technical documents.

Required skills

• Use of test equipment and software diagnostic tools.
• Knowledge of analog and digital principles and theory.
• Troubleshooting of electronic, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Basic knowledge of computer mainframe/architecture, networking and operating systems (Windows NT/XP, UNIX, Linux, AIX).
