Founding Software Engineer – New Real‑Time 3D Product

About the role

This is a founding engineering opportunity to take an early real‑time 3D browser‑native product from prototype to a robust technical foundation. You will be the first engineer, working closely with product leadership and an established engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Define the MVP and rapidly prototype multiple technical approaches.
• Evaluate and select technologies such as Three.js, WebGPU, WebGL, PlayCanvas, and related web‑game frameworks.
• Assess the existing prototype and decide which components to retain, improve, or replace.
• Design and build the core architecture for a browser‑native experience that integrates with an existing Windows‑native product.
• Explore challenges around multiplayer, content compatibility, and cross‑platform boundaries.
• Establish an open‑source‑friendly architecture and performance‑optimization strategy.
• Leverage AI‑assisted development tools to accelerate experimentation and iteration.
• Provide technical leadership while contributing directly to the codebase and collaborating with the broader engineering organization.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong foundation in real‑time 3D and game development.
• Proven ability to work independently in ambiguous environments and make decisions with incomplete information.
• Hands‑on mindset, rapid prototyping skills, and ownership of product and technical outcomes.
