Gas Distribution SCADA Specialist

About the role

Eram Talent is recruiting an experienced Gas Distribution SCADA Specialist for a leading energy company in Saudi Arabia. The specialist maintains and administers the SCADA system of the Marafiq Gas Distribution Network (GDN) in Yanbu, including its communication network, to ensure high equipment availability and optimized system performance. The workplace is on-site.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and administer SCADA systems and networks, including installation, configuration and troubleshooting of Windows operating systems and services.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on SCADA software, operating systems, hardware, RTUs and communication networks.
• Monitor performance indicators such as alarms, events, CPU usage, disk space and network traffic.
• Analyze real-time data using monitoring techniques, data historian tools and visualization platforms.
• Provide technical support to operations by troubleshooting failures, generating reports and resolving issues.
• Test, commission and integrate new SCADA systems, devices and applications.
• Manage system security and user administration, including account creation, password resets and access rights.
• Maintain backups and disaster recovery, and handle hardware maintenance and spare parts inventory.
• Support projects and engineering work, including design reviews, site surveys, vendor coordination and reliability and safety studies (RCA, RCM, HAZOP, IPF).

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation and Control, Computer or Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 8 years of experience in SCADA systems for gas distribution, with 8 years in the field with utility organizations or SCADA manufacturers.
• Experience with Wonderware SCADA and Emerson RTUs for metering skids.
• Experience with SAP Plant Maintenance module.
• Preferred: certifications such as MCSA or CompTIA Network+.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Wonderware SCADA and Emerson RTUs.
• Knowledge of communication protocols such as Modbus, RS232/RS485.
• Experience with RTUs in metering skids and gas distribution networks.
