General Practitioner – Emergency Medicine

About the role

The hospital is seeking a qualified General Practitioner to work in the Emergency Department. The physician will be responsible for the full clinical management of patients presenting to the ER, from initial triage through assessment, treatment, and safe discharge.

Key responsibilities

• Perform triage of all incoming patients in collaboration with nursing staff, prioritising care based on acuity.
• Conduct comprehensive history taking, physical examinations, and order appropriate diagnostic tests.
• Initiate and deliver evidence‑based medical treatment, including management of surgical, orthopedic, medical and paediatric emergencies.
• Stabilise critical patients and coordinate transfer or admission when necessary.
• Document all patient interactions, investigations and treatments in accordance with hospital policies and Saudi Ministry of Health regulations.
• Provide education to patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans and follow‑up care.
• Participate in departmental teaching, training activities and quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and full registration to practice.
• Minimum two (2) years of experience working in an emergency department.
• Familiarity with CBAHI/JCI standards and Saudi Ministry of Health regulations.
• Ability to manage a wide range of emergency cases, including surgical, orthopaedic, medical and paediatric presentations.
• Strong documentation and communication skills, with a patient‑centred approach.
