GM Advisor – Public Administration

About the role

The GM Advisor provides consultancy to support the achievement of strategic objectives within a public administration authority. The role oversees planning, development and budgeting activities, ensuring robust frameworks and performance measurement.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the analysis and improvement of public administration services, identify development opportunities and enhance delivery mechanisms.
• Contribute to the work plan for internal affairs and ensure alignment with the authority’s strategy.
• Develop and align the operational plan for planning and development with the business and strategic plans.
• Provide recommendations on new opportunities for service expansion and beneficiary satisfaction.
• Implement plans and supply inputs needed to achieve planning and development objectives that support overall strategic goals.
• Review reports, identify challenges and advise on future initiatives.
• Discuss budget requirements with senior management and contribute to the budgeting process.
• Ensure optimal use of the planning and development budget and report progress and challenges.
• Validate initiatives and propose implementations that deliver positive financial results while mitigating risks.
• Follow standard operating procedures, assist in resolving escalated issues and support less‑experienced teams.
• Escalate complex problems appropriately and perform other tasks as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field (required).
• MBA or Executive Management degree (preferred).
• Professional certification such as CPA, SOCPA, CTA, CFA or ATT (preferred).
• Minimum six years of relevant experience, with eight years preferred.
