HCM Applications Department Manager

About the role

The HCM Applications Department Manager will lead the design, development, deployment and ongoing operation of critical retail application systems, ensuring they are available, efficient and aligned with the company’s business strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the IT applications strategy, overseeing development, implementation and maintenance of retail‑focused applications.
• Lead a team of developers and analysts, fostering innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Monitor key performance indicators and ensure applications meet or exceed service level agreements.
• Manage seamless integration of applications with other retail and business systems.
• Apply project management principles to deliver projects on time, within budget and according to business expectations.
• Develop training programs for end‑users and super users to maximize application utility.
• Gather feedback, run testing cycles and ensure applications are bug‑free.
• Collaborate with system integrators, technical vendors and consultants to enhance application capabilities.
• Identify automation opportunities and implement solutions to improve in‑store operations and customer experience.
• Prepare budget forecasts for software procurement, staffing and project costs.
• Implement best practices for application security, data protection and regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years (120 months) of experience in IT applications management.
• Proven ability to lead and develop technical teams.
• Strong track record of delivering large‑scale application projects on schedule and budget.
• Experience managing budgets and vendor relationships.
• Knowledge of retail or healthcare business processes is a plus.
