Job description
About the role
Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is looking for an Access Engagement & HTA Head to lead its Market Access team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Reporting to the Market Access Director, the role supports the portfolio's access engagement and health technology assessment (HTA) strategy in an evolving Saudi healthcare system, connecting policy, HTA and emerging healthcare models with field access execution. It works closely with HEMAR Leads, SAM, Pricing & Tender, Medical, Commercial and Regulatory teams.
Key responsibilities
- Shape policy and HTA dialogue with the Ministry of Health, CNHI/CHTA and CHI, and turn evidence, economic and value requirements into portfolio, brand and evidence plans.
- Lead the KSA portfolio HTA and Economic Evaluation Study strategy, including Saudi-adapted economic models, local epidemiology, real-world evidence and appropriate comparators, with HEMAR and Medical Affairs.
- Monitor healthcare-system developments such as Vision 2030, financing reform and privatization, and turn them into access implications, risks and opportunities.
- Strengthen strategic contracting, price protection, value and pricing policy, portfolio value narratives and stakeholder prioritization.
- Represent the company in policy forums, industry associations and public-private initiatives, and build relationships with CNHI, HHC, healthcare clusters, providers, purchasers and insurers.
- Develop innovative access solutions such as value-based agreements, outcomes-based contracting, early-access and managed-entry approaches.
- Build a customer-facing access engagement model, segment stakeholders by influence and importance, and run after-action reviews to improve engagement.
- Link national access wins to account-level execution so formulary and tender results translate into patient uptake.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in pharmacy, life sciences, medicine, health economics or a related field; an advanced degree (MSc, MBA, MPH, PharmD) is preferred.
- 6-10+ years in pharmaceutical or healthcare roles with a strong track record in market access, HEMAR, health policy or health-system transformation; KSA experience is essential.
- Fluency in Arabic and English.
Required skills
- Deep knowledge of the Saudi health system and Vision 2030, including CNHI, HHC and clusters, MoH, SFDA, CHI, HTA/EES, formulary and NUPCO tender pathways.
- Ability to build senior external relationships and deliver access outcomes across specialty therapy areas.
