Head of Legal

About the role

The Head of Legal will lead the legal function in Saudi Arabia, providing strategic counsel to the CEO and senior management on high‑impact matters. This role oversees corporate governance, legal risk, commercial contracts, litigation, investigations and regulatory affairs, ensuring legal risks are managed while supporting business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the legal strategy, advising on major transactions, investments and operational decisions.
• Manage the legal risk framework, monitor regulatory changes and ensure compliance with Saudi laws.
• Lead drafting, negotiation and execution of high‑value commercial and strategic agreements.
• Direct litigation, arbitration and dispute resolution strategies, overseeing external counsel.
• Represent the company with government authorities, regulators and courts, handling inquiries and investigations.
• Coordinate with GCC Region and Group Legal on cross‑border matters and ensure alignment with global policies.
• Lead, develop and mentor the KSA legal team, setting performance objectives and succession plans.
• Provide regular reports to senior leadership on legal exposures, claims and regulatory developments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law with a valid Saudi legal qualification.
• 12+ years of progressive legal experience, preferably in ports, terminals, logistics, maritime or infrastructure sectors.
• Proven senior legal leadership in a multinational or regulated environment.
• Extensive experience in commercial contracts, corporate governance, litigation and regulatory matters.
• Demonstrated ability to advise CEOs and executive teams on complex legal issues.
• Strong track record of managing legal teams and external counsel.
• Fluent Arabic and professional English communication skills.
