Health and Safety Specialist

About the role

The Health and Safety Specialist will ensure compliance with occupational health, safety and environmental policies across Botanica’s operations. You will advise on hazard mitigation, conduct inspections and foster a culture of safety throughout the subsidiary.

Key responsibilities

• Compile and maintain safety programs and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
• Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments and audits, recommending control measures.
• Develop and deliver H&S training for employees, contractors and visitors.
• Prepare and investigate incident reports, maintain registers and provide statistical analysis.
• Design and implement emergency response plans and coordinate drills.
• Promote a positive safety culture through staff meetings, recognition and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an H&S professional with strong attention to detail.
• In‑depth knowledge of legislation such as OSHA/EMS, Saudi HSE, COSHH, confined space, lifting operations and excavations.
• Ability to write clear reports, policies and guidelines.
• Excellent communication skills for explaining procedures and regulations.
• Proficiency in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word); familiarity with safety management information systems is a plus.
• Relevant certification in occupational health, safety and environment (e.g., NEBOSH IGC).
