Heritage & Building Diagnostics Specialist

About the role

SOCOTEC, which supports major infrastructure, construction, urban development and heritage projects in Saudi Arabia, is looking for an experienced Building Diagnostics Specialist. The specialist assesses existing buildings and assets, identifies technical conditions and defects, and gives professional recommendations on repairs, rehabilitation and maintenance. The role involves technical assessments, reporting and coordination with multidisciplinary project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections and technical assessments of existing buildings and assets.
• Identify, assess and document defects, deterioration and technical conditions.
• Prepare technical reports, inspection records and assessment documentation.
• Review drawings, technical documents and project information.
• Provide technical recommendations on repair, rehabilitation, maintenance and improvement works.
• Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders.
• Support technical surveys, investigations and diagnostics, and review and monitor technical works.
• Ensure activities follow applicable standards, regulations and project requirements.
• Support technical scopes, proposals and project documentation, and keep accurate records of inspections and findings.

Required profile

• Saudi national.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Architecture, Building Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant professional experience, preferably in Saudi Arabia.
• Good command of English.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of building construction, materials and common building defects.
• Strong technical reporting and documentation skills.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and good communication skills.
• Knowledge of Saudi regulations and international standards is preferred.
