Hostess – Guest Reception and Seating

About the role

We are looking for a friendly and organized Hostess to be the first point of contact for guests at our restaurant in Jeddah. You will welcome visitors, manage reservations and seating, and help ensure a smooth and enjoyable dining experience.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers as they enter the restaurant and provide accurate wait times.
• Escort guests to their assigned dining or bar areas and present menus.
• Maintain a clean and welcoming reception area.
• Cater to special guest needs, such as children or elderly patrons.
• Answer phone calls, take reservations and address queries.
• Coordinate with kitchen and service staff as needed.
• Assign tables to balance workload for wait staff and optimise seating.
• Engage with guests to ensure satisfaction with food and service.
• Handle complaints and help resolve them promptly.
• Maintain knowledge of the menu and assist with other restaurant positions when required.
• Observe guest needs throughout the dining experience to deliver high‑quality service.
• Follow sanitation, safety and alcohol control policies.
• Assist with setting and clearing tables, replenishing water and serving beverages.
• Issue dining charges, calculate taxes and total bills for to‑go orders.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a host or hostess.
• Understanding of restaurant etiquette.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
• Experience managing reservations and strong customer‑service skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both phone and in‑person.
• High level of patience and active listening.
• Strong organizational abilities to monitor the dining and bar areas.
