ICS Cybersecurity Engineer – Renewable Power

About the role

The Cybersecurity Engineer will join Air Products' NEOM Green Hydrogen Project, ensuring cybersecurity compliance, resilience and safe operation of large‑scale renewable power generation and transmission assets.

Key responsibilities

• Perform field verification and validation of cybersecurity design for renewable power generation and transmission assets, ensuring compliance with Saudi and international standards.
• Lead cyber risk assessments for power packages and OEM skid systems, tracking and closing mitigation actions with vendors and contractors.
• Support pre‑commissioning and commissioning by validating firewall rules, secure remote access, endpoint hardening, role‑based access control, logging and monitoring.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and OEMs to control third‑party access and ensure cybersecurity compliance during construction and startup.
• Contribute to OT cybersecurity handover to operations, including procedures, access governance, incident‑response alignment and backup/recovery models.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (electronics & communication, instrumentation or process automation) or equivalent.
• 10‑15 years of OT experience with at least 3 years focused on designing, building or validating cybersecurity for industrial control systems.
• Hands‑on experience with Saudi cyber standards (HCIS, NCA) and ISA/IEC 62443.
• Proven experience supporting large‑scale renewable energy projects (Solar PV, Wind, BESS, HV/MV substations).

Required skills

• Operational Technology (OT) and industrial control systems (SCADA/DCS/PLC).
• Protocols: Modbus, PROFINET, DNP3, IEC 61850.
• Cybersecurity tools: firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), anti‑virus, vulnerability assessment.
• Risk assessment and mitigation for OT environments.
• Microsoft Office suite (Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
