Inbound Logistics Officer – Customs Clearance

About the role

We are looking for an Inbound Logistics Officer who will manage the end‑to‑end import process, from purchase order creation to customs clearance and warehouse receipt. The role ensures compliance with trade agreements, Saudi customs requirements and internal policies while maintaining clear communication with suppliers and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Create import purchase orders in line with trade agreements and company policy, securing required approvals.
• Communicate purchase orders to suppliers, confirm receipt and provide shipping requirements.
• Track shipment status weekly, update the import matrix daily, and share status reports with buyers and relevant departments.
• Obtain original shipping documents before arrival, verify compliance with Saudi customs, and forward them to the customs broker.
• Coordinate with the warehouse to prepare for incoming shipments and record landed cost at PO level.
• Monitor receiving status, report short or damaged goods within 48 hours, and inform suppliers.
• Collect supplier statements of account, follow up on payments with the accounts department and send payment confirmations.
• Prepare monthly analysis and service‑level reports for import suppliers and shipments.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience in FMCG retail logistics or a similar import function.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong interpersonal abilities to handle sensitive documentation and stakeholder interactions.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
