Inbound Supervisor – Receiving Operations

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Inbound Supervisor to lead the receiving operations at a fast‑growing grocery distribution centre. The role oversees a team of Team Leaders and Receiving Officers, ensuring that goods arriving from suppliers are processed accurately, safely and on time, from unloading through to put‑away handover.

Key responsibilities

• Plan daily inbound schedules and allocate manpower based on truck arrivals and volume.
• Supervise unloading, counting, purchase‑order receiving in the WMS and handover to put‑away.
• Close all open receipts on the same day, eliminating end‑of‑shift backlog.
• Enforce cold‑chain, FEFO, expiry and quality‑control standards for ambient, chilled, frozen and fresh products.
• Lead, train and develop the receiving team, monitoring individual productivity and performance.
• Coordinate with Planning, Commercial and Suppliers to ensure smooth inbound flow.
• Track inbound volumes, productivity metrics and open receipts.
• Identify recurring operational issues and support process and system improvements.
• Maintain a strong floor presence and ensure compliance with warehouse procedures and standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business or equivalent experience.
• 3‑5 years of warehouse operations experience, including at least 2 years supervising a receiving/inbound team.
• Background in grocery, FMCG, retail or food distribution with multi‑temperature handling.
• Fluent in English and Arabic, both written and spoken.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and peak‑season periods.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with a Warehouse Management System (receiving, PO/ASN and put‑away modules).
• Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency.
• Knowledge of food‑safety, cold‑chain and expiry‑control processes.
