Infrastructure Architect

About the role

The Infrastructure Architect will lead the design and execution of virtual‑machine migrations on Google Cloud. You will troubleshoot migration issues, provide technical guidance, and ensure a smooth transition for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Offer architectural advice and first‑line quality assurance for migration projects.
• Use Migration Center 1P tooling to migrate VMs and automate processes where possible.
• Prepare detailed migration runbooks, including rollback plans and change‑control procedures.
• Identify, assess and mitigate migration risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Execute agreed‑upon VM migrations and provide hyper‑care support post‑migration.
• Collaborate with Cloud Migration Engineers, guiding them through design and execution.
• Present migration status and technical findings to both technical stakeholders and executive leadership.

Required profile

• Proven experience in problem determination and triage on Google Cloud 1P products.
• Strong background in migration troubleshooting and hyper‑care support for virtual machines.
• Demonstrated technical leadership in cloud‑design areas.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

• Google Cloud architectural knowledge.
• IAM, VPC, IaaS, DBaaS.
• Observability, monitoring and logging.
• Migration Center 1P migration tooling.
