Instrumentation Engineer - Oil & Gas EPC

About the role

CPECC, a leading EPC contractor in the oil and gas industry, is hiring an Instrumentation Engineer for its pipeline projects in Saudi Arabia. The position is based in Riyadh and covers instrumentation engineering, field installation, supervision and commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Lead instrumentation engineering and field installation activities for oil and gas EPC projects.
• Review and approve instrument datasheets, loop diagrams, hook-up drawings and specifications.
• Supervise installation, calibration and commissioning of pressure, temperature, flow and level instruments.
• Manage control valve, safety valve and analyzer system installations.
• Coordinate with DCS/SCADA and electrical teams for system integration.
• Ensure compliance with Saudi Aramco standards (SAES-J series), ISA and IEC codes.
• Conduct site inspections, resolve punch lists and carry out pre-commissioning activities.
• Interface with the Saudi Aramco inspection team for documentation and approvals.
• Manage and guide instrumentation supervisors and technicians.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electrical or a related engineering field.
• 10+ years of field experience in instrumentation installation and commissioning for oil and gas EPC projects.
• Proven experience on Saudi Aramco projects is a strong advantage.
• Fluent English; Arabic or Chinese is a plus.
• Valid Saudi Iqama or willingness to relocate to Saudi Arabia.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SAES-J, ISA S5.1 and IEC 61511 standards.
• Hands-on experience with HART, FOUNDATION Fieldbus or similar protocols.
• Strong understanding of SIS/SIL requirements and instrument loop testing.
• Ability to read P&IDs, loop diagrams and wiring diagrams.
