Intensive Care Consultant

About the role

The Consultant Intensive Care is responsible for delivering high‑quality inpatient and outpatient care, including management of patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit, while adhering to evidence‑based medicine, professional ethics, JCIA standards and Saudi Ministry of Health regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care, including management of patients in the Intensive Care Unit.
• Lead the ICU department, develop and implement quality improvement plans in line with JCIA standards and Ministry of Health regulations.
• Conduct regular multidisciplinary ward rounds and formulate treatment plans.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as airway management, catheter placements, and resuscitation.
• Supervise junior medical staff and participate in on‑call rotation for emergency consultations.

Required profile

• Board‑certified physician with at least 5 years of experience in intensive care.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to supervise junior staff.
• Commitment to continuous medical education and participation in research activities.

Required skills

• Intravascular catheter insertion and monitoring (arterial lines, central and peripheral venous lines).
• Endotracheal intubation and mechanical ventilation management.
• Pulmonary artery catheterization.
• Cardiopulmonary resuscitation and advanced life support.
• Tube thoracostomy and transvenous temporary pacing.
