Inventory Planner - SPM Oil & Gas

About the role

Caterpillar's SPM Oil & Gas and Marine division is looking for an experienced Inventory Planner to support its SPM Oil & Gas parts business in Riyadh. The role ensures optimal inventory availability, minimizes stock shortages and improves inventory control across several customer and operational sites, working closely with sales, operations, supply chain and customer-facing teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage inventory levels to keep stock available while minimizing excess.
• Maintain inventory accuracy using ERP systems.
• Support parts sales by ensuring timely availability of critical components.
• Develop and maintain forecasting and demand planning models.
• Identify shortages, excess stock and supply risks and implement corrective actions.
• Generate inventory reports and recommend improvements.
• Coordinate with supply chain, procurement, warehousing and operations teams on replenishment.
• Investigate discrepancies and drive root cause analysis.
• Ensure compliance with inventory control procedures and communicate status and risks to stakeholders.
• Travel to customer and operational sites as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management or a related field.
• At least 4 years of experience in inventory planning, materials planning, demand planning or a similar role.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP and/or Syteline.
• Experience in forecasting, demand planning, inventory optimization and stock control.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work across stakeholders, and willingness to travel.
• Preferred: oil and gas, industrial equipment or aftermarket parts background, and experience with high-value spare parts.
