IT Monitoring Center – Data Center Facility Monitoring Specialist

About the role

The IT Monitoring Center – Data Center Facility Monitoring Specialist is responsible for continuously overseeing the environmental, power, security and fire safety systems of a data centre in Saudi Arabia. The role ensures that all physical infrastructure operates within defined parameters and that any incidents are addressed promptly to minimise downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor temperature, humidity and airflow inside the data centre and ensure they stay within safe limits.
• Track power distribution components such as UPS units, PDUs, generators and circuit breakers to guarantee uninterrupted power supply.
• Supervise physical security systems including access control, CCTV and intrusion detection.
• Oversee fire detection and suppression equipment (FM‑200, smoke sensors) and verify early‑warning functionality.
• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance for HVAC, electrical and cooling equipment.
• Respond to facility alerts, troubleshoot issues and work with electrical, mechanical and IT teams to resolve problems.
• Maintain accurate logs of configurations, inspections, incidents and performance metrics.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and data‑centre operational standards.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, IT or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in data‑centre facility operations or similar technical environments.
• Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving ability and capacity to work under pressure.
• Effective documentation and communication skills for incident reporting and coordination.

Required skills

• Knowledge of electrical power distribution, UPS units and generator systems.
• Understanding of HVAC systems used for data‑centre cooling.
• Familiarity with fire detection and FM‑200 suppression systems.
• Experience with access control, CCTV surveillance and intrusion detection technologies.
• Ability to monitor and interpret environmental parameters (temperature, humidity, airflow).
• Proficiency in logging incidents and maintaining facility performance records.
