IT Security Engineer

About the role

The IT Security Engineer will support the implementation of security standards, monitoring activities, and basic compliance requirements to protect the organization’s IT systems, applications, and data. This entry‑level position is ideal for a fresh graduate eager to learn security awareness, code scanning, vulnerability follow‑up, and Saudi cybersecurity regulations under senior guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in implementing IT security standards and internal policies.
• Support compliance activities related to Saudi cybersecurity regulations.
• Maintain security documentation, checklists, and basic audit evidence.
• Monitor security alerts, escalate suspicious activities, and log incidents.
• Perform vulnerability scanning, code security scanning before deployments, and track remediation status.
• Support patching and corrective actions, sharing updates with relevant teams.
• Secure application and infrastructure layers, including web, APIs, databases, and client applications.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Infra, and Development teams to ensure secure deployment pipelines.
• Develop security guidelines, SOPs, and conduct awareness training.
• Communicate with regulators, auditors, and external vendors for assessments and certifications.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, IT or related field.
• Fresh graduate or up to 2 years of experience in information security or cybersecurity.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, ISO 27001 Foundation or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of security governance, risk management, and compliance concepts.
