IT Technical Support Officer

About the role

The IT Technical Support Officer will serve as the first point of contact for employees experiencing hardware, software, or network issues. Working within a dynamic manufacturing environment, you will ensure that IT services run smoothly and support the company’s commitment to sustainable development.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line assistance for hardware, software and network‑related problems, both remotely and on‑site.
• Log, prioritize and resolve support tickets in a timely manner.
• Perform routine system checks, updates, backups and monitor overall performance.
• Install, configure and maintain operating systems, applications and security tools.
• Manage user accounts, password resets and access controls in accordance with company policies.
• Maintain printers, scanners, routers, switches and wireless access points.
• Document incidents, solutions and maintain an up‑to‑date inventory of IT assets.
• Assist with IT projects such as system migrations, hardware rollouts and software implementations.

Required profile

• Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• 2–5 years of proven experience in an IT support role.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft 365, ITIL) are a plus.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and effective communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows, macOS and Linux desktop operating systems.
• Experience using Microsoft Office 365 and Active Directory.
• Basic networking knowledge and familiarity with routers, switches and wireless access points.
• Ability to use remote support tools and ticketing systems.
• Knowledge of antivirus solutions, backup strategies and security protocols.
• Hands‑on experience with hardware repairs and peripheral device troubleshooting.
