Java Backend Developer

About the role

We are looking for a Java Backend Developer to join our Riyadh team. The role involves designing, building and maintaining high‑performance backend services for enterprise applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop and consume RESTful APIs and web services.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
• Integrate applications with relational databases and optimise SQL queries.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, and cross‑functional teams.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
• Optimise application performance, scalability, and security.
• Prepare technical documentation and support deployment activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 4–5 years of hands‑on experience in Java backend development.
• Strong proficiency in Core Java (Java 8/11/17).
• Extensive experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Data JPA/Hibernate.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
• Proficiency with Git and familiarity with Maven or Gradle.
• Understanding of JUnit, Mockito, and unit testing frameworks.
• Knowledge of application security, authentication, and authorization concepts.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
