Kitchen Engineer‑Technician

About the role

The Kitchen Engineer‑Technician is responsible for maintaining all mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems within the hotel kitchen. The role requires responding quickly to guest repair requests and performing preventive maintenance with minimal supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests and resolve maintenance issues promptly.
• Perform preventive maintenance, cleaning and lubrication of tools and equipment.
• Visually inspect tools, machinery and kitchen equipment, and carry necessary equipment on‑site.
• Identify and operate shut‑off valves, maintain inventory and requisition parts.
• Communicate daily activities and issues to other shifts using approved procedures.
• Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics for plumbing and HVAC systems.
• Execute complex repairs on HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing and mechanical equipment, following lockout/tagout protocols.
• Use engineering software for preventive maintenance, energy management and MEP troubleshooting.
• Train and mentor junior engineers and perform Engineer‑on‑Duty duties.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Advanced knowledge of blueprints, electrical schematics and MEP systems.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and above‑average engineering operations skills.
• Proficiency in multiple technical domains (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
• Commitment to safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures and regulatory compliance.
