Laboratory Technician

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Laboratory Technician to join our Laboratory Services department in Riyadh. Reporting to the Laboratory Services Supervisor, you will perform clinical laboratory tests and procedures that support accurate diagnosis and treatment for patients.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine clinical laboratory tests using standard techniques and both manual and automated equipment.
• Prepare, label, store, and process specimens, including drawing blood.
• Review requisitions for routine and special diagnostic tests and organise daily work schedules.
• Maintain detailed records of tests, report results to clinical staff, and ensure compliance with quality control and assurance policies.
• Calibrate, clean, maintain, and sterilise laboratory equipment; report malfunctions and arrange repairs.
• Follow strict infection prevention and control principles and keep work areas clean.
• Monitor inventory, requisition supplies and equipment as needed.
• Participate in on‑call rota, departmental committees, and continuous training.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology.
• Board certification and a current license to practice in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate.
• Minimum of 2 years progressive experience as a medical technologist in a clinical laboratory.
• Fluent in English and Arabic with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of laboratory and hospital computer systems.
• Sound knowledge of laboratory safety and infection prevention and control procedures.
