Lead Aquatic Animal Health Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a senior professional to lead fish health and welfare programs across hatchery, early‑stage, and offshore/farm operations. The role focuses on disease prevention, health monitoring, and sustainable production while ensuring compliance with veterinary and welfare standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and oversee fish health programs throughout all production stages.
• Diagnose and manage disease outbreaks, mortality events and other health challenges.
• Conduct disease surveillance, necropsies, sampling and microscopy to support rapid decision‑making.
• Develop health monitoring systems, treatment protocols, SOPs and biosecurity measures.
• Train, mentor and lead fish health and production teams.
• Manage budgets, equipment, consumables and veterinary inventory for the health program.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Veterinary Medicine, Aquaculture, Aquatic Animal Health, Fishery Science, Marine Biology or a related field.
• Proven experience in fish health management or aquaculture veterinary care, preferably in hatchery, farm or offshore settings.
• Strong knowledge of fish disease diagnosis, surveillance, necropsy, microscopy, biosecurity and welfare standards.
• Experience developing SOPs, leading teams and implementing health programs.
