Lead Engineer - Contracts

About the role

JASARA PMC is looking for a Lead Engineer to act as the independent Engineer under FIDIC contracts, providing impartial contract administration and engineering oversight for major infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Administer FIDIC contracts, ensuring fair implementation between Employer and Contractor.
• Review and certify interim and final payment certificates, variations, claims and extensions of time.
• Maintain all contractual documentation, notices and communications in line with FIDIC requirements.
• Serve as an independent decision‑making authority, assessing claims objectively and issuing determinations.
• Provide high‑level engineering leadership, reviewing design submissions, approving technical deliverables and overseeing construction activities.
• Act as the primary interface with Employers, Contractors, consultants and regulatory bodies, leading meetings and progress reviews.
• Identify project risks, manage claims and disputes, and support dispute‑avoidance mechanisms such as DAB/DAAB.
• Advise the Employer on contractual risks and mitigation strategies.

Required profile

• Minimum 20‑25 years of progressive experience in engineering and contract management.
• Proven track record serving as the Engineer under FIDIC contracts on large‑scale infrastructure or construction projects.
• Deep expertise in FIDIC contract forms (Red Book, Yellow Book, etc.) and strong knowledge of contract law.
• High professional integrity, independence and strong commercial awareness.
