Lead Primary Engineer

About the role

The Lead Primary Engineer is the technical guarantor for the design of high‑voltage substations, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. You will oversee design packages, coordinate with internal and external partners, and drive continuous improvement across the engineering discipline.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and align discipline provisional document lists with project schedules.
• Lead design and gate reviews, ensuring compliance with KPI targets.
• Integrate design parts, manage mitigation plans and track action status.
• Apply design management tools and maintain coherent data submissions.
• Update workload plans, master design hours and enforce change processes.
• Deploy and validate interface sheets for partners and suppliers.
• Coordinate NCR system usage and ensure timely document delivery for operation and maintenance.
• Maintain compliance with GE quality processes, policies and industry standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10 years of engineering experience in high‑voltage substation design or transmission/distribution projects.
• Proven ability to manage large design packages in a multinational environment.
• Strong understanding of project budgeting, scheduling and quality assurance.
