Lead Principal Onshore Pipeline Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Lead/Principal Pipeline Engineer to head onshore pipeline design for a major engineering and energy project in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on delivering cross‑country and onshore pipeline systems from conceptual design through FEED to detailed engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary team of 8‑15 pipeline engineers and designers.
• Oversee engineering and design of production pipelines, trunk lines, test lines and flow lines.
• Define project scope, deliverables, work plans and engineering activities.
• Develop Basis of Design (BOD) and other key pipeline engineering documents.
• Prepare man‑hour estimates, resource requirements and ensure deliverables meet schedule and budget.
• Provide technical leadership, ensure design integrity and coordinate with project management and other disciplines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 15+ years of experience in oil & gas, hydrocarbon or energy projects with strong onshore pipeline design background.
• Proven experience in cross‑country pipelines, FEED and detailed engineering phases.
• Familiarity with Saudi Aramco standards and engineering procedures is an advantage.
• Excellent English communication and technical presentation skills.

Required skills

• ASME B31.4 and/or ASME B31.8 standards.
• Pipeline design practices, hydraulics and surge analysis.
• Pipeline stress analysis and material selection.
• Knowledge of ASME, API and NFPA codes.
• Understanding of Saudi Aramco standards and pipeline protection systems.
