Legal Consultant (Higher Education)

About the role

The University of Prince Mugrin seeks a qualified Legal Consultant to provide legal advice and support to its leadership and administrative units. The role involves drafting and reviewing contracts, ensuring compliance with Saudi laws, managing legal risk and safeguarding the university’s legal interests.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and opinions to university leadership, colleges and administrative units on regulatory and contractual matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts, memoranda of understanding, agreements and other legal instruments to protect the university’s interests.
• Monitor Saudi laws, regulations and ministerial decisions relevant to higher education and advise on their implications.
• Represent the university, or coordinate with external counsel, in litigation, settlement and regulatory proceedings.
• Assess legal risks associated with university decisions and initiatives and recommend mitigation measures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (Master’s preferred) and a valid license to practice law in Saudi Arabia is a plus.
• Minimum five years of relevant legal experience in a supervisory or lead role, preferably within the higher‑education sector.
• Strong knowledge of Saudi commercial, labour, procurement and higher‑education regulations.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with legal research tools and databases.
