Machinery Diagnostics Field Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Machinery Diagnostics Field Engineer to deliver comprehensive service solutions for critical rotating machinery assets. The role involves installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining monitoring and protection systems, as well as providing diagnostics training after certification.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical direction for customers and field personnel on Bently Nevada equipment and rotating machinery maintenance.
• Perform installations, commissioning, and troubleshooting of Bently Nevada hardware and software at customer sites.
• Diagnose machinery issues using vibration, process, performance data, and maintenance records.
• Prepare timely service reports with findings and recommendations.
• Travel to customer locations with required service equipment and ensure proper installation of transducers and monitoring devices.
• Acquire and interpret data using MDS instruments (ADRE408, Scout, System 1®) and extract meaningful plots.
• Conduct field‑balancing, impact testing, ODS, basic modal analysis, and torsional analysis on turbines, generators, compressors, and pumps.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental regulations and customer requirements.

Required profile

• Graduate engineer with a minimum 4‑year technical degree; BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in machinery diagnostics, vibration analysis, and rotating equipment maintenance.

Required skills

• Rotor dynamic analysis and vibration data interpretation.
• Bently Nevada hardware and software installation and troubleshooting.
• Use of MDS data acquisition tools (ADRE408, Scout, System 1®).
• Installation of permanent and temporary transducers (shaft, casing, optical, laser).
• Field‑balancing of turbines, generators, compressors, and pumps.
• Impact testing, Operating Deflection Shapes (ODS), basic modal and torsional analysis.
• Knowledge of API and ISO standards for machinery vibration.
