Maintenance Technician – Production & Packaging Equipment

About the role

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and improving production and packaging equipment in a GMP‑controlled environment. The role focuses on minimizing unplanned downtime through preventive, corrective and condition‑based maintenance while ensuring safety and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive, corrective, predictive and breakdown maintenance on production and packaging machinery.
• Respond to equipment failures, diagnose faults, identify root causes and restore operation safely.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic and basic electrical/control issues within authorized scope.
• Inspect and service motors, gearboxes, bearings, belts, chains, couplings, seals and other mechanical components.
• Maintain pneumatic systems, including cylinders, valves, regulators, FRL units and tubing.
• Support machine changeovers, format‑part replacements, setups and mechanical adjustments.

Required profile

• Technical diploma, associate degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics or related field.
• Typically 3–5+ years of industrial maintenance experience; pharmaceutical manufacturing preferred.
• Practical experience with automated production or packaging machinery.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, equipment manuals and pneumatic diagrams.

Required skills

• Mechanical troubleshooting of power‑transmission components (bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes).
• Pneumatic system maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Basic electrical/control troubleshooting.
• Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and pneumatic schematics.
