Manager, Engineering AI & Data – AI at Scale (Energy Resources)

About the role

Deloitte is seeking a senior manager to lead AI and data engineering initiatives for the energy resources sector in Riyadh. You will drive AI‑at‑scale solutions that transform upstream oil and gas operations, delivering measurable business value such as production uplift, downtime reduction and emissions optimisation.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute AI strategy for upstream oil & gas projects.
• Design, build and deploy advanced analytics models (forecasting, anomaly detection, predictive maintenance).
• Lead end‑to‑end MLOps pipelines, including containerisation, orchestration and CI/CD.
• Ensure model governance, explainability and risk management in regulated environments.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate technical outcomes into clear business impact.

Required profile

• 10–15 years of applied data science, advanced analytics and AI experience in the oil & gas industry, preferably upstream.
• Proven track record of delivering production uplift, energy optimisation or emissions reduction pilots.
• Strong ability to lead cross‑functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts.

Required skills

• Series forecasting, anomaly detection, predictive analysis, optimisation.
• Machine‑learning algorithms: tree ensembles, gradient boosting, deep learning.
• Prompt engineering and augmented generation.
• Data frameworks: Spark, Databricks.
• MLOps tools: Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, MLflow, Kubeflow, Seldon.
• Cloud platforms: AWS SageMaker & EMR, Azure ML & Databricks, GCP Vertex AI.
• Enterprise data integration: OSIsoft/AVEVA PI.
• Model governance & explainability: SHAP, LIME.
