Manager - Hot Finishing Lines

About the role

The Manager – Hot Finishing Lines is responsible for the safe, efficient and reliable operation of the Hot Strip Rolling Line (HSRL) and Hot Skin Pass Mill (HSPM). This role leads day‑to‑day production, ensuring targets for output, quality, yield, plant availability and cost are met while driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of HSRL and HSPM to achieve production, quality, yield and availability goals.
• Manage and develop the Hot Finishing Lines team, handling manpower planning, performance management and training.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, operating standards and environmental requirements.
• Monitor and improve plant efficiency, operating costs and raw material consumption.
• Identify and implement technical and operational improvements to boost quality and productivity.
• Prepare and manage annual budgets, operational spares and consumables.
• Collaborate with Maintenance to maximise equipment reliability and plant availability.
• Coordinate with Production Planning and Raw Material teams to meet production targets.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical or Electrical Engineering with ~7+ years of flat steel rolling experience, or equivalent qualifications with ~10‑12+ years.
• Strong leadership experience managing production teams in a steel manufacturing environment.
• In‑depth technical knowledge of hot rolling processes and flat steel products.
• Proven ability to work with production KPIs, cost control and operational budgets.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP.
• Experience using Q‑Pulse.
• Strong command of MS Office applications.
