Marine Engineering Intern

About the role

The Marine Engineering Intern supports the operation, maintenance, and performance of marine machinery and onboard engineering systems. Working under senior engineers, the intern assists with preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, inspections, and compliance with safety and maritime regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in operating and maintaining marine engines, generators, pumps, and auxiliary machinery.
• Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities according to schedules.
• Monitor equipment performance and report abnormalities or failures.
• Participate in troubleshooting mechanical and engineering issues.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and technical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and maritime regulations.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Participate in inspections, testing, and commissioning activities when required.
