Material Inspector – Bridges

About the role

The Material Inspector will ensure that all construction materials used on bridge projects meet approved specifications, quality standards, contract requirements, and relevant international codes. This role involves on‑site inspections, coordination with testing laboratories, and thorough documentation of compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and verify delivered construction materials against project specifications and approved submittals.
• Review material certificates, test reports, and manufacturer documentation for compliance.
• Monitor storage, handling, and preservation of materials to prevent deterioration.
• Coordinate sampling and testing with accredited laboratories, witness field and lab tests, and evaluate results.
• Oversee concrete batching, delivery, placement, curing, and related quality records.
• Inspect reinforcement and structural steel components, including fabrication records and coating systems.
• Prepare inspection reports, issue non‑conformance reports, and track corrective actions.
• Participate in quality meetings, support resolution of material‑related issues, and ensure HSE compliance during inspections.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, Construction Technology, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in material inspection for construction projects, preferably bridge works.
