Mechanical Engineer – Data Center SME (Saudi National)

About the role

Decima International is seeking a Saudi‑national Mechanical Engineer with deep expertise in data‑center mechanical operations. The role will support mission‑critical projects across the lifecycle – from design review and commissioning to operational readiness and ongoing facility management for Tier III and Tier IV data centres in Saudi Arabia.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise for critical mechanical systems such as chilled water plants, CRAH/CRAC units, cooling towers, pumps, heat exchangers, evaporative cooling, HVAC, fuel and fire‑protection systems.
• Review mechanical designs for operability, maintainability, reliability and compliance with client standards and codes.
• Participate in design, constructability and commissioning readiness reviews, and conduct operational readiness assessments.
• Develop, review and approve SOPs, EOPs and MOPs, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and safety requirements.
• Support preventive‑maintenance strategy development, change‑management and operational governance programs.
• Prepare technical documentation, risk assessments and engineering reports, and act as a trusted advisor to clients and multidisciplinary teams.

Required profile

• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience with at least 5 years in data‑center or critical‑facility operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of Tier III/IV data‑center mechanical infrastructure and relevant codes (ASHRAE, NFPA, ISO, IEC, Uptime Institute, TIA‑942, BICSI).
• Proven ability to develop, review and validate SOPs, EOPs and MOPs.
• Excellent technical writing, communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
