Mechanical Engineer – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

The Mechanical Engineer will supervise mechanical works across infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with designs, specifications and standards. You will review design and shop drawings, monitor site implementation and oversee quality control for mechanical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Review and comment on mechanical design drawings, shop drawings and material submittals.
• Supervise installation, testing and commissioning of mechanical systems such as pumping stations, utilities, HVAC and pipeline networks.
• Monitor site execution to ensure adherence to construction sequences and safety requirements.
• Conduct inspections, witness pressure tests and verify compliance with project specifications.
• Review technical correspondences, RFIs and contractor submissions, providing timely professional input.
• Identify and resolve technical challenges through coordination with design and construction teams.
• Ensure mechanical works meet quality, safety and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–7 years of relevant experience, including work on roads, bridges and tunnels projects.
• Proven experience reviewing mechanical designs and shop drawings.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, utilities and relevant standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, ASTM).
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication and leadership abilities.
