Mechanical Engineer Internship – Cutting‑Edge Hardware Design

About the role

Uvera is looking for a passionate Mechanical Engineer intern to join its team at KAUST Research & Technology Park. You will contribute to the design, development, and optimisation of innovative hardware products while working closely with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in the full mechanical design cycle from concept to production using CAD tools.
• Conduct feasibility studies, simulations and mechanical analyses (stress, thermal, tolerance).
• Collaborate with electrical, firmware and product designers to integrate mechanical components.
• Develop prototypes, perform testing and validation to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Plan and oversee production processes, troubleshoot mechanical issues and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Recent graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, manufacturing processes and materials selection.
• Proven ability to deliver high‑quality designs on time and within budget.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non‑technical audiences.

Required skills

• CAD software: SolidWorks, Siemens NX, Fusion 360, AutoCAD (Adobe Creative Suite mentioned).
• Simulation tools: ANSYS, COMSOL.
• Prototyping equipment: CNC machining, laser cutting.
