Mechanical Engineer – Site Supervision & HDPE Pipeline

About the role

ASPEC for Contracting & Environmental Consultancy is seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer to join its project team in Jeddah. The role involves supervising mechanical works, monitoring site equipment, overseeing maintenance, and managing HDPE pipeline installation and welding, while ensuring compliance with quality, safety and HSE standards.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the operation and condition of site equipment and machinery.
• Supervise maintenance and repair activities.
• Prepare and implement preventive and corrective maintenance plans.
• Supervise diesel generators and associated mechanical systems.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly technical reports.
• Prepare and review mechanical, shop, and as‑built drawings.
• Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of HDPE piping systems.
• Monitor HDPE butt‑fusion and electro‑fusion welding activities.
• Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and HSE requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in construction, infrastructure or environmental projects.
• Practical experience in maintenance of site equipment and machinery, including diesel generators.
• Experience with HDPE pipeline installation and butt‑fusion/electro‑fusion welding.
• Good command of English.
• Valid driving licence (preferred).

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of SolidWorks or Revit MEP (advantage).
• Experience with HDPE pipeline installation and welding (butt fusion & electrofusion).
• Understanding of diesel generator systems.
