Mechanical Engineer – Turnaround & Inspection Specialist

About the role

Saipem is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead turnaround and inspection activities within the oil and gas sector. The role requires deep technical expertise, strong coordination abilities, and the capacity to communicate complex concepts clearly across multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and execute turnaround and inspection projects for offshore and onshore facilities.
• Ensure all work complies with international standards and codes, including ASME, API and ANSI.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineers and management to resolve technical conflicts and align project objectives.
• Prepare and review technical documentation, inspection reports and compliance records.
• Provide clear technical and commercial updates to stakeholders at all organizational levels.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 6‑8 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Minimum 15 years of experience specifically in turnaround and inspection (T&I) activities.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Required skills

• Turnaround & Inspection scheduling and planning.
• In‑depth knowledge of ASME standards.
• Expertise in API standards such as API610, API617, API692, API691.
• Familiarity with ANSI codes.
• Project coordination across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
