Mechanical Technician

About the role

The Mechanical Technician will be responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment in a large food production environment. You will ensure that all machinery operates safely, efficiently, and complies with HSE, GMP, and food‑defense standards.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve mechanical breakdowns within the assigned area.
• Perform corrective, preventive, and scheduled maintenance following the Kanban system.
• Coordinate with the maintenance team on continuous‑improvement projects.
• Handle chemical products safely and comply with HACCP and other food‑safety requirements.
• Maintain 5S, GMP, and sustainability standards on the shop floor.
• Reduce mean time to repair (MTTR) by providing effective line support.
• Generate maintenance notifications (M1, M2, M3) and manage spare‑part orders.
• Support OEM communication for critical spares and technical issues.
• Act as backup for the immediate supervisor and assist in team training.

Required profile

• Minimum 24 months of relevant mechanical maintenance experience.
• Technical qualification of at least 2 years in a Mechanical Trade.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced food‑production environment and follow strict safety and quality procedures.
