Media & Public Relations Manager

About the role

The Media & Public Relations Manager will translate the marketing plan into media and PR priorities, shaping exposure themes, messaging focus, and reputation management for Sakani. This role drives visibility, reach and engagement across paid, earned and shared channels.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute an annual media and PR plan covering paid, earned and shared media to strengthen Sakani’s visibility.
• Coordinate media placements and flight schedules across print, broadcast and outdoor channels, ensuring optimal timing and alignment with campaigns.
• Maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, influencers and PR agencies, leveraging the corporate media partner list.
• Work with Institutional Marketing Communications to manage media buying, agency briefs, and performance evaluations.
• Prepare media kits, press releases, feature articles and talking points in collaboration with Content & Creative.
• Facilitate media interviews, press briefings and public appearances for executives, providing briefing notes and handling guidelines.
• Oversee review and approval workflows for media materials to ensure brand compliance and messaging standards.
• Report on media coverage, sentiment, trends and misinformation risks, offering recommendations for proactive engagement.
• Implement crisis communication responses, including holding statements and escalation protocols.
• Coordinate media engagement for events, conferences and exhibitions, aligning narratives with campaign objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Media Studies, Journalism or a related field.
• Minimum 9 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Optional certifications such as CIPR Professional PR Diploma, PRSA APR, IABC CMP or CIPR Chartered Practitioner.
