Medical Science Liaison

About the role

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will provide scientific and technical support for Abbott’s Established Pharmaceuticals division in Jeddah. The role focuses on building and maintaining credible relationships with key opinion leaders and academic centers to ensure access to current medical and scientific information.

Key responsibilities

• Provide scientific and technical support and maintain professional relationships with key opinion leaders and academic centers in the assigned therapeutic area.
• Act as the scientific expert for the therapeutic area and develop resources for the therapy team.
• Assist on special projects such as medical affairs, continuing medical education, advisory boards, KOL development, scientific reviews, local clinical trials, and investigator meetings.
• Respond to internal and external queries, including adverse event reporting, to deliver accurate scientific and medical information.
• Deliver credible presentations on scientific matters to physicians individually or in group settings.
• Establish and develop relationships with medical specialist groups and societies to expand research, advisory, and educational partnerships.
• Participate in the selection of qualified physicians and KOLs for collaborative research, lectures, and meetings.
• Monitor competitor intelligence and communicate relevant insights within the company.

Required profile

• Strong scientific and technical expertise in the relevant therapeutic area.
• Experience supporting medical affairs activities, including CME, advisory boards, and clinical trials.
• Ability to provide accurate scientific information and handle adverse event reporting.
• Excellent presentation skills for delivering scientific content to physicians and groups.
• Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with physicians, KOLs, and medical societies.
