MYP Mathematics & Science Teacher – IB Middle Years Programme

About the role

We are looking for an experienced MYP Mathematics and Science Teacher to deliver the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme in a multigrade classroom. The position combines rigorous academic instruction with inquiry‑based, sustainability‑focused learning in a developing school environment.

Key responsibilities

• Teach IB MYP Mathematics and Science across multigrade classes, ensuring appropriate challenge and progression for all learners.
• Plan and deliver engaging units that align the IB framework with Common Core (Mathematics) and Next Generation Science Standards.
• Design authentic, context‑driven learning experiences that leverage the local marine and conservation environment.
• Manage safe laboratory activities and incorporate technology, including emerging AI tools, to enhance instruction.
• Act as a tutor, supporting student wellbeing and serving as a liaison between school and families.
• Collaborate with primary teachers for vertical alignment and contribute flexibly to the broader school community.

Required profile

• Proven experience teaching the IB MYP (essential).
• Confidence teaching both Mathematics and Science disciplines.
• Strong planning skills for complex, multigrade learning environments.
• Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction for diverse student populations.
• Adaptable, resilient, and comfortable working in a developing school context.
• Collaborative mindset with initiative beyond the subject area.
