About the role

Operating System Support – Patch Management Specialist is responsible for managing an automated patch management solution across enterprise Windows Server and RHEL environments, ensuring security compliance and coordinated change control.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end‑to‑end automated patch management process from detection to deployment.
• Review, evaluate and investigate all published patches (Microsoft, RHEL, applications) before applying.
• Deploy patches following controlled, sequenced and automated procedures while adhering to change‑control policies.
• Handle patch inter‑dependencies and sequencing to avoid conflicts.
• Produce and share detailed patch reports (installed, missing, supported, latest).
• Collaborate with IT Systems Operations teams for full lifecycle patch management.
• Identify system vulnerabilities, report them and maintain compliance with security policies.
• Provide regular updates on patch deployment status and ensure timely completion.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in OS patch management, vulnerability assessment and enterprise system maintenance.
• Familiarity with ITIL‑based change management processes.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with Windows Server patching.
• Hands‑on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) patching.
• Knowledge of Microsoft and third‑party application patching, including databases.
• Experience with automated patch management solutions and patch lifecycle processes.
• Understanding of patch inter‑dependencies, sequencing and deployment strategies.
• Proficiency in preparing and analysing patch reports.
• Strong knowledge of vulnerability assessment and mitigation techniques.
