Ophthalmology Subspecialist (Locum)

About the role

This locum position provides comprehensive ophthalmological services to Saudi Aramco employees and their eligible dependents in Dhahran. The specialist will deliver both medical and surgical eye care, participate in preventative‑curative programs, and support the Ophthalmology Services Unit.

Key responsibilities

• Perform complete eye examinations, diagnose conditions, and develop treatment plans.
• Conduct elective and emergency ophthalmic surgeries, including YAG and Argon laser procedures.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests to manage eye diseases.
• Provide on‑call coverage for urgent and emergency cases, day and night.
• Maintain accurate, confidential patient records and document all interventions.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, allied health staff, and refer patients when necessary.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences and medical education activities.

Required profile

• Medical degree from an approved school and board certification (American Board, Canadian Royal College, or equivalent).
• Fellowship training (minimum 2 years) and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) & JHAH HR ophthalmology board certification.
• At least three years of post‑board ophthalmology practice with proven expertise.
• Valid medical license to practice in Saudi Arabia.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
